Green Hop is our long awaited seasonal beer, brewed every September to celebrate the annual hop harvest. Crafted with freshly picked Challenger hops from the Hopshires; the delicate oils create a beer with special fresh crispness and grassy, sweet fruit aromas.
FACT … Our brewers love this time of year as it’s the only time we can take advantage of brewing with freshly picked hops, less than 12 hours from field to brewhouse. The rest of the year we use hops which have been dried out under controlled conditions. Brewing with fresh green hops is interesting and a challenging experience, working with the huge amounts of the hops plant but the results are worth it
This year’s Green Hop is available in 500ml bottles and 9 gallon casks.
Tasting Notes
The single Challenger variety has been chosen for the Hobsons Green Hop Beer. As a bittering hop it provides a refreshing, full bodied rounded bitterness and as a late hop, it gives a very crisp and floral flavour notes. The delicate oils create a beer with special fresh crispness and grassy, sweet fruit aromas.
Green hop is bottle-conditioned, creating a gentle carbonation and natural sediment. Ingredients + Allergens
Local Maris Otter malting barley and Caramalt. Challenger hop.
