Quality Technician

Technical Brewer

 

Hobsons based in Shropshire is looking for a technical person
to join our production team, focusing on quality management systems (SALSA),
food safety compliance (like HACCP), and standards across all brewery
operations. A passion and track record in brewing, a keen eye for detail and
analytic skills. The role is part-time 24 hours a week based at the Brewery in
Cleobury Mortimer DY14 8RB.

Role Description

We are looking for a technical person to join our Production
Team with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and an interest in
food technology.

 

This role will be responsible for Quality Assurance analysis throughout the brewery, ensuring standards are maintained and communicated effectively across the teams. Hobsons are proud to be SALSA accredited and this role will work closely with the standard to ensure compliance in all areas.

 

Key responsibilities:

1.  Beer quality management from raw materials to beer in the glass at point of consumption. Inhouse tasting panel with recorded outcomes.

2.  Compliance with all relevant legislation and expectations from quality system awarding bodies.

3.  Maintaining and communicating standard operating procedures across the brewery.

4.  Monitoring process performance regarding vessel utilization, process aid and chemical usage, energy consumption, water usage and effluent.

 

Personal Requirements:

·  Experienced in Brewing or ingredient supply in our industry.

·  Higher Education / Degree in Brewing, Microbiology, Chemical engineering, or similar
fields is desirable.

·  Strong attention to detail, record keeping and analytical skills to achieve continuous
improvement.

·  Confident in working independently and as part of a team.

·  Strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach

· Good computer skills with MS software packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·       
Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices

·       
Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Schedule:

Job Type: Part-time 24 hours

Monday - Friday 9:00 – 17:00 – Working Pattern to be agreed
with successful applicant.

Work Location: In person, Cleobury Mortimer DY14 8RB
