Quality Technician

Role Description

We are looking for a technical person to join our Production Team with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and an interest in food technology.

This role will be responsible for Quality Assurance analysis throughout the brewery, ensuring standards are maintained and communicated effectively across the teams. Hobsons are proud to be SALSA accredited and this role will work closely with the standard to ensure compliance in all areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Beer quality management from raw materials to beer in the glass at point of consumption. Inhouse tasting panel with recorded outcomes.
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation and expectations from quality system awarding bodies.
  • Maintaining and communicating standard operating procedures across the brewery.
  • Monitoring process performance regarding vessel utilisation, process aid and chemical usage, energy consumption, water usage and effluent.

 

Personal Requirements:

  • Higher Education / Degree in Brewing, Microbiology, Chemical engineering, or similar fields.
  • Experience in the Food Industry is required, experience in Brewing is ideal but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, record keeping and analytical skills to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Confident in working independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach
  • Good computer skills with MS software packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Type: Part-time (2︎4︎ hours)

Monday to Friday 9︎:0︎0︎ – 1︎7︎:0︎0︎ – Working Pattern to be agreed with successful applicant.

Work Location: In person, Cleobury Mortimer, DY1︎4︎ 8︎RB
