September celebrates the English hop harvest, providing a limited window of opportunity to get the freshly picked hops from the field to the brewery to create a one-off green hopped beer. Our friends at Brook House Hops supply us with fresh Herefordshire grown Challenger hops which are not dried in the hop kiln, therefore allowing the delicate oils to create a beer with special fresh crispness and grassy, sweet fruit aromas.
Flavour and Aroma - The 4.2% Green Hop Beer is made with a single variety Challenger hop. The flavour of Challenger hop in beer is smooth, with floral character and some spice. Some of the sweeter citrus flavours will come through in the beer as well.
Bittering Characteristics - As a bittering hop it provides a refreshing, full-bodied rounded bitterness and as a late hop, it gives a very crisp character.
Please note Green Hop is a bottle conditioned beer which contains sediment, pour carefully and best stored upright at cellar temperature 10 - 12 degrees.
