Introducing Zephyr Lager: Brewed with the Wind, Inspired by Sustainability

At Hobsons Brewery, we’ve always believed in crafting beers that not only taste exceptional but also reflect the values at the heart of our brewery. With that in mind, we’re proud to introduce Zephyr Lager—a crisp, pale, English-hopped lager brewed with care and sustainability in every pint.

Where the Name Came From

The name “Zephyr” was inspired by the gentle breeze that embodies our commitment to sustainability and the natural world. Here at the brewery, we’re fortunate to have our own wind turbine, affectionately known as “Wendy,” which generates a quarter of the energy we use to produce our beers.

Wendy is a vital part of our sustainability journey, helping us reduce our carbon footprint while brewing beers that remain true to our ethos. It felt only fitting to honour her by letting her spirit inspire the name and branding of Zephyr Lager.

Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability has always been central to Hobsons Brewery, and Zephyr Lager is no exception. From its use of 100% English hops to its clean, refreshing profile, this lager is a celebration of local ingredients and sustainable brewing. By using hops grown right here in England, we not only support British agriculture but also reduce the carbon emissions associated with importing ingredients.

Zephyr’s branding also reflects our commitment to sustainability. The imagery of wind turbines and rolling hills pays tribute to Wendy and the beautiful countryside that inspires everything we do.
