At Hobsons we understand the importance of making sport accessible to everyone and the benefits of simply having a good old bit of fun whilst keeping active. So we are thrilled to be supporting the Explore Rowing initiative at Stourport Boat Club, which aims to provide ‘flexible, fun and varied rowing programmes’ to the local community. Organised and funded by the British Rowing Association, the scheme is currently being introduced across the Uk and we think it’s great that Stourport Boat Club is one of the first rowing clubs to introduce the initiative.
With it’s rich history, superb facilities, and dedicated staff and volunteers, Stourport Boat Club is a superb rowing venue which truly believes in making rowing accessible, affordable and enjoyable for the whole family. Thanks to the British Rowing Association funding and local sponsors the club are able to purchase new equipment to make this goal a reality. We are delighted to be sponsors of the first boat purchased for the initiative and Henry’s coke can now be seen skimming the horizon of the River Severn on a regular basis.
Launched at a special naming ceremony back in December the boat is now helping to kick start the Explore Rowing scheme. Nick Davis Head Brewer at Hobsons attended the ceremony marking the occasion by breaking a bottle of Twisted Spire over the boat. He said “We are proud to support Stourport Boat Clubs Explore Rowing initiative, the club is a fantastic asset to the local community and we are sure many people of all ages will enjoy taking part in the scheme”.
